    Studded tyres

    Studded tyres may be used in Estonia from 15 October to 31 March; in wintry road and weather conditions, as an exception, from 1 October to 30 April. Studs give the best grip on ice and packed snow.

    A studded tyre is noisier than a friction tyre and wears faster on dry tarmac, so it suits drivers who spend the winter on open or ungritted roads.

    Every tyre listed here already has its studs fitted. Studdable tyres — which arrive WITHOUT studs — are under studless tyres, because without studs that is what they are.
